About Us

The Objectives of the Club are:

to provide a forum through monthly meetings where members can improve their understanding of the principles of sound saving and investing.
to invest members' monthly contributions in securities (stocks/shares) and/or funds available on the stock market or a stock market platform as agreed by the Committee following each monthly investment meeting.
to generate returns that are above bank deposits over rolling 5-year periods. In the past, global stock markets have generated returns of circa 4-5% above the equivalent bank deposit returns and the aim of the Club is to benefit from these higher returns over time.
to provide a social outlet around investment matters.

The Club was established by Rory Gillen in October 2026. Rory has spent 35 years in the investment markets working with NCB Stockbrokers (now Brewin Dolphin), Zurich Life, Merrion Capital and he established GillenMarkets in 2009 (which is now part of the wealth management company, Quilter Cheviot Europe). He has run investment training courses for over 20 years and is the Club's current Chairman.
